Tole Fairy
Hello to all My Cactus Wren Friends, Thank you for the warm welcome I received when I returned to the chapter in January.
I came at the request of your New President Sharon Carlson. For many years, you have worn beautifully painted name tags to
the meetings. Not only were they greatly admired, but they were appreciated by some of us who momentarily will forget a name.
Gradually over the last few years, the members have been displaying their names on sticky paper tags...How sad.
It was time for the 'Tole Fairy' to reappear.
The biggest excuse was that the pins made holes in your clothes. This can be remedied by
wearing a magnet or necklace tag. Let this be the year that we see a return to the pride in wearing a 'Painted' name tag.
Paint one for yourself, paint one for a gift, paint one for a door prize. I have another request.. Please make your name large
enough to read. I will charge anyone without a name tag the large sum of 25 cents..!!! This is a 'Fun' assignment, for a good cause.
Thank you. Your Tole Fairy...

Exchanges
I will have wooden eggs with me at the February meeting for those who
wish to purchase, and the Easter Egg Exchange will be at the March
meeting. I will have mini frames for necklaces (for the June
exchange) with me at the April meeting. Thanks!

Ways and Means
On the month of your birthday, you are invited to donate an item
that you have painted. This is done on a voluntary basis, and the
item should be relatively inexpensive. These items will be raffled
off, and the winner announced after the business meeting. Please
participate in your birthday month, as we all look forward to this
raffle and enjoy winning a gift painted by our fellow club members.
In addition to the Birthday Girl raffle, the Ways & Means Committee
would greatly appreciate donations for the “Special Raffle” (usually
raffled over a period of a couple of meetings). Please contact one
of us at the Ways & Means table if you would like to participate.
The lucky number this month was won by DeAnn Meely. DeAnn won a
stylus and a packet of super film sandpaper.
Niki Simonson donated a teddy bear hanger to be used for a small
child's clothes which, was won by Eileen Clark.
Shirley Heckler donated a painting of a panda bear, which was won by
Pat Kaminsky.
Linda Thiel donated a painted notepad holder, which was won by Niki
Simonson.
Judy Frank donated a pen and ink and watercolor bird with flowers,
which was won by LaVon Milano.
We had three door prizes this month all donated by DeAnn Meely. Two
plastic palettes won by Agatha Turner and Pat Kaminsky. Our other
door prize was a shaded night light won by Susan Star.
We held the drawing for our special raffle item this month, a
beautiful rose insert painted by Rebecca Baer and won by Sharon
Carlson.
No one came forward to identify themselves as the hidden name.
